I have a cold. My throat is sore and I generally feel yucky – however life goes on. I felt like staying in bed this morning, however the boys had to go to school, emails still need to be answered, and tasks need to be done.
So, how do I cope? I’m prioritising, and I have scheduled a “Nana Nap” after lunch so I can get some rest. I am doing the most important things, and anything else can wait until tomorrow. The phone is also set to answering machine, and unless it’s an urgent call, I’ll return calls tomorrow – hopefully by not speaking much today, my throat will start feeling better.
What are some of your tips for working when YOU are sick?

I hope you actually HAD that Nana Nap Melissa! There’s nothing worse than being sick and knowing there’s still lots of work to be done!
My tip is definitely take time out – nap/rest/watch a movie/sit outside if it’s a nice day – just detach yourself from the daily grind for a while. Taking a break can also help you refocus when you start to work again. Even if it’s a short break.
I did get a nap in the afternoon – I spent most of the afternoon on the couch! I’m still feeling stuffed up this morning – so nap again today!
